Theatre Royal

Glasgow’s oldest theatre, Theatre Royal combines old and new architecture to stunning effect and is just a two minute walk from the hotel. Even if not attending a show, the Theatre Royal’s Victorian auditorium and stylish public areas, such as the central spiral stairwell, café and roof terrace, are definitely worth a visit.

The Pavilion and King’s Theatre

Both The Pavilion and King’s Theatre opened at the turn of the 20th century, attracting the leading artists of the day, including a then-unknown Charlie Chaplin. These two historic theatres have continued strong, showing the best touring and home-grown shows.

The Music Scene

Glasgow is renowned for its live music scene, with a variety of venues catering for small intimate gigs to huge arenas hosting the biggest names. The SSE Hydro

The SSE Hydro is a multi-purpose indoor arena located within the Scottish Event Campus. It has hosted some of the biggest bands, comedians and singers in the world and is only 2 miles from the hotel.

SEC Glasgow

SEC Glasgow, previously known as the SECC, is the biggest indoor venue on the Scottish Event Campus and is used for hosting large conferences as well as live entertainment.

King Tut’s

King Tut’s is an integral part of Glasgow’s thriving grassroots music scene. Radio 1 named it the ‘UK’s Best Live Venue’ three years in a row and was voted no7 in New York Magazine’s ‘Follow You Bliss List’ – a list of 50 euphoria-inducing destinations to visit before you die! You can also thank King Tut’s for bringing you the likes of Oasis who were discovered here!

The Barrowlands Ballroom

The original Barrlowland Ballroom opened in 1934. Simple Minds filmed the video for their 1983 hit single, “Waterfront”. Bowie, Biffy Clyro, U2, Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand and Snow Patrol have all played the Ballroom.

  • Location Information

    Where is the hotel located?

    The hotel entrance is on Renfrew street in the centre of Glasgow, a 10-minute walk from Central and Queen Street stations.

    How do I get to the hotel from the Airport?

    Glasgow International Airport is a 15-minute taxi ride to the hotel or alternatively, you can get the 500 airport express bus from outside the arrivals door at the airport which goes to Buchanan Street Bus Station and then it is a 3-minute walk to the hotel.

    What time is check-in?

    Check-in is 2.00pm. In the case of earlier arrival, we try our best to accommodate our guests where possible.

    What time is check-out?

    Check-out is 12 noon. In the case of late departure, we try our best to accommodate our guests where possible.

    Do the rooms have air conditioning?

    Yes, all bedrooms have air conditioning.

    Does the hotel have a gym?

    The hotel has a fitness suite which can be used free of charge for hotel guests.

    Does the hotel have WiFi?

    What age are children for the purpose of hotel packages?

    Children are designated as between 2 and 12 years of age. Children over 12 will be charged as an adult.

    Can I cancel or amend my booking?

    Maldron Hotel Glasgow offers free cancellation up to 2.00 pm 48 hours prior to arrival for almost all reservations made on maldronhotels.com or maldronhotelglasgowcity.com. Some special offers and key dates may specify a special cancellation policy, these will be clearly outlined in the terms & conditions.

    Reservations booked via on third party websites and online travel agents have their own cancellation policies, please refer to your confirmation email.
